Types Of Bone Cancer

The bone cancer is a disease which can occur and can cause impacts in a variety of ways. The bone cancer is thus classified according to the part of occurrence and the ways of occurrence. Bone cancer is classified into two broad categories of primary and secondary bone cancers, according to the way in which it occurs. Primary bone cancer: Primary bone cancer refers to the cancerous in the condition in the bone that has originated from the bone itself. The cause of origination of cancerous cells in the bone tissue, be it the cartilage type or the connecting tissues, is unknown. But what we mean by bone cancer is the development and presence of cancerous cells in the bone tissue. If the bone tissues are the first affected ones and then the cancerous cells spread to the various other organs, we refer to the type of bone cancer as primary bone cancer. Primary brain cancers constitute very less percent of the overall cancer issues. The primary cancer is further classified as Osteosarcoma: The type of bone cancer that originates from the Osteoid tissue in the bone. This most common type of primary bone cancer mostly occurs in the children and the young adults. But occurrence cannot be eliminated among the adults too. The type of cancer constitutes about 35% of the primary bone cancers. It affects the long bones of the body, mostly the upper arms, upper legs. Chondrosarcoma: This type of primary bone cancer is the most common type of primary cancer occurring in the age group of 50-60. The type mainly affects the hip region and the pelvic regions. The main part of origination is the cartilaginous tissues. The Chondrosarcoma is a rare occurrence, but cannot be neglected as there are occurrences of the type every year. Ewing?s sarcoma: The Ewing?s sarcoma is another type of primary cancer that is not common and found rarely occurring in teenagers. The type is mainly affecting the limbs and the hip regions of the body. Spindle cell sarcoma: The spindle cell sarcoma is more similar to the Osteosarcoma in many aspects. The occurrence is very rare, and is internally classified into four different types. But these have not been around for many years. Other than these there are other lesser known primary bone cancers that very rarely occur and so are eliminated in most discussions. Secondary Type of Bone cancer: (metastases) The secondary type of bone cancer refers to the type of cancer where the cancer has actually originated in some other organ and eventually has spread to the bone tissues. The cancerous cells are not actually the bone cells though. But with time and development, the bone tissues will be affected. The other cancers like kidney cancer, lung cancer are more probable for causing this type of cancer. This type of cancer is the most occurring one, and the treatments are a mix of chemotherapy and surgery, and concentrates mainly on the tissue of origin.
